About Azali!

(bred by Charles and Elizabeth Malone, whelped 1/6/1979)

Azali

When I chose Azali to sire my Jasmine's 1985 litter I wanted to line breed on Jaadan and, importantly, bring the incredible Cirrus into my bloodline to continue to improve coursing ability in my stock.

In Azali's lifetime he earned 1,379 NOFCA open field points. Azali won 5 of his first 8 hunts. During his first 2 coursing seasons he won 13 of 26 hunts and placed in most others including the Grand Courses. He dominated the open field coursing in California for 6 years and won all 4 hunts in New Mexico. He was number one all breeds in 1981, number one Saluki in 1984, number two Coursing Saluki 1982 and 1983.

  • Winner of the 1981, 1982, and 1984 ASA Mia Cup.
  • He was the 1981 and 1984 winner of the Coursing Shield trophy, offered by the American Saluki Association, presented to the Saluki with the highest total score in open field coursing during the calendar year.
  • In 1982, 1983 and 1984 he won ASA's Fatimeh Cup.
  • Winner of the 1980 and 1982 ASA Ishtan Cup.
  • Winner of the 1982 ASA Suki Cup.
  • Best in Specialty at the Saluki Club of Greater San Francisco in 1983.
